Machine Chest Press

Purpose of this exercise: TO STRENGTHEN THE PECTORALIS MAJOR, DELTOID, TRICEPS BRACHIUS

The pectoralis major is the muscle responsible for bringing the arm across the chest and lowering the arms when they are overhead.

If one arm is stronger than the other, move the weaker hand out further on the bar.


Technique
1. Lying on your back on a bench with your feet on the floor and head toward the machine, hold the handles of the machine at shoulder width. Palms should be facing up/out. This is your starting point.  
2. Extend your arms and push the arms out. Once fully extended, return to the starting position without banging the weights together.

CAUTIONS!!
•Be careful not to let your head get too close to the weight stack.
•As with all machine exercises, make sure the pin is fully inserted.
•Never exercise without a competent spotter.
