Military Press Front

Purpose of this exercise: TO DEVELOP THE DELTOIDS

This is the grandfather of all shoulder exercises. Also known as the Shoulder Press, it isolates the deltoids more when done seated.

Technique
1. Sit on a bench that has upper back support.
2. Position a bar in front of you out of the rack with a grip shoulder width apart and palms facing away from you.
3. Push bar upwards to arms length in a smooth manner.
4. Lower the bar with control until it touches the upper chest.
5. Do not hyperextend the lower back when the bar is overhead.

CAUTIONS!!

Be careful not to overarch the back.
Use a weightbelt and a spotter for this exercise.
