Dumbbell Military Press

Purpose of this exercise: TO DEVELOP THE DELTOIDS, THE TRAPEZIUS AND THE TRICEPS.

This exercise is also known as the Shoulder Press and can be done standing or seated, with dumbbells, barbells or on a shoulder-press machine. This exercise should be done through the fullest range of motion possible.

Technique
1. Sit on a bench that has a vertical upper back support.
2. Position the dumbbells at shoulder height, elbows out to the sides with the palms facing forward.
3. Push the dumbbells upwards to arms length in a smooth manner
4. Lower the dumbbells with the control until they are at shoulder height.
5. Do not hyperextend the lower back when the dumbbells are overhead.
   

CAUTIONS!!
• Do not lift your head up.
• Never exercise without a competent spotter.
• Always bring the dumbbells down in a slow and controlled manner.
• Always put dumbbells away on the rack. Never place them on the bench.
